As a member firm of Genesys, we’re happy to report that as a collective, we’ve raised over $1 Million for the Children First Foundation. The milestone was reached at the recent Genesys conference where $50,000 was raised, pushing the total contributions since 1999 into seven figures.

Children First Foundation, a Melbourne based not-for-profit charity, allows children from developing and war torn countries to have life changing surgery in Australia and provides funding support for Australian families with disabled or chronically ill children.

Testament to the great work of Children First Foundation is the recent transformation of Thiery Henri, a once disabled boy from Madagascar. Thiery was found by Australian couple Thiery and Roxanne Le Blanc in May of 2011 in a small village of 200 people, with the bones in his legs bent at 90 degree angles after years of neglect, malnourishment, abuse and a series of untreated fractures. After the Le Blancs successfully reached out to Children First Foundation for help, Theiry arrived in Melbourne on the 24th of January 2013 weighing a mere 22kg. Professor Leo Donnanwith, an orthopedic surgeon who has worked with Children First Foundation previously, managed to create channels in Thiery’s remaining shins and insert metal rods as internal splints to hold his legs straight. Earlier this week, after a full transformation, Thiery flew out of Melbourne to return home a different person after life changing surgery.

Speaking with Matt Battye (Complete Wealth’s Managing Director): “Children First Foundation do a wonderful job to help those less fortunate by performing medical procedures that are unavailable to those in need. Helping raise $1 Million for Children First Foundation is a great way of achieving this, and it is their remarkable transforming of people’s lives such as Thiery, that encourages us here at Complete Wealth to give back and help those who are not as fortunate as us”.

Children First Foundation receives no government funding and relies solely on the generosity of its supporters which we’re very proud to be a part of.
